The appeal emphasized that toilet is basic requirement for ensuring dignified lives and minimizing number of deaths from these sanitation deprivations including annual death of 10,500 children below 5 years of age. It appreciated increasing support from medical leaders across Europe as investment in safe sanitation is one of the most important actions in slashing child mortality rates allowing our economies to prosper. It requested support in raising voices for ensuring basic toilet access to all and celebrate World Toilet Day to raise awareness for tackling this moral crisis so that no child die because they are denied their most basic of rights.
Good linkage of WaterAid Nepal team member Mr. Om Prasad Gautam has helped in getting linkage with the medical professionals. The support from Ms. Anita Pradhan in preparing information package was also noteworthy.
